Observing Impermanence
สาวตฺถินิทานํฯ
At Sāvatthī.
“สทฺธาปพฺพชิตสฺส, ภิกฺขเว, กุลปุตฺตสฺส อยมนุธมฺโม โหติ—ยํ รูเป อนิจฺจานุปสฺสี วิหเรยฺยฯ เวทนาย … สญฺญาย … สงฺขาเรสุ … วิญฺญาเณ อนิจฺจานุปสฺสี วิหเรยฺย …เป… ‘ปริมุจฺจติ ทุกฺขสฺมา'ติ วทามี”ติฯ
“Bhikkhus, when a gentleman has gone forth out of faith, this is what’s in line with the teachings. They should live observing impermanence in form, feeling, perception, functioning patterns, and consciousness. … They’re freed from suffering, I say.”
