Grasping Aggregates
“ปญฺจิเม, ภิกฺขเว, อุปาทานกฺขนฺธาฯ กตเม ปญฺจ? เสยฺยถิทํ—รูปุปาทานกฺขนฺโธ, เวทนุปาทานกฺขนฺโธ, สญฺญุปาทานกฺขนฺโธ, สงฺขารุปาทานกฺขนฺโธ, วิญฺญาณุปาทานกฺขนฺโธฯ อิเม โข, ภิกฺขเว, ปญฺจุปาทานกฺขนฺธาฯ
“Bhikkhus, there are these five grasping aggregates. What five? The grasping aggregates of form, feeling, perception, functioning patterns, and consciousness. These are the five grasping aggregates.
อิเมสํ โข, ภิกฺขเว, ปญฺจนฺนํ อุปาทานกฺขนฺธานํ อภิญฺญาย ปริญฺญาย ปริกฺขยาย ปหานาย …เป… อยํ อริโย อฏฺฐงฺคิโก มคฺโค ภาเวตพฺโพ”ติฯ
The noble eightfold path should be developed for the direct knowledge, complete understanding, finishing, and giving up of these five grasping aggregates.”
